    1820 US Census (William Simmons)
The 1820 US Census shows the heads of household and number of persons living with that head of household. This census shows William Simmons with a female under the age of 26 (presumably his wife Betsey) and two sons under the age of 10 who are probably William W. and George L. Asa W. died before the 1820 census. Also, this census indicates that William is engaged in farming. It is of interest that there is a Peter Simmons of age between 26-45 living nearby who could be a brother of William Simmons. With current research there are strong indications that they could be brothers, more research is needed to confirm this suspicion.

    Estate Sale - Schenectady NY
This article appeared in a Schenectady newspaper giving notice to an estate sale of a house and parcel of land. The article describes the land by the land owners surrounding the parcel. There is a William Simmons and a Peter Simmons with land that borders parts of this parcel of land. The article was found by Laura Conrad of Schenectady, NY and her follow up research uncovered land deeds involving William Simmons and Peter Simmons. See William Simmons' land events of 1821, 1835 and 1836. From this research and other previous research is it believed that Peter and William could be brothers! Research continues and hope that this will help uncover the parents of William and/or Peter Simmons.

The 1830 US Census shows the heads of household and number of persons living with that head of household. This census shows William Simmons (aged 20-30) living with a female aged 20-30 who is assumed to be his wife Betsey. It is interesting to point out that the enumerator marked in the wrong column for the age range of William and Betsey as they should be in the 30-40 age column. There are two males under the age of 5 indicated who would be Amos and Leonard F, there are two males between the age of 6-10 who would be Lyman and Edward, there is one male under the age of 15 who would be William W., and there is one female under the age of 5 who would be Huldah Ann.
